Elder Holland said in April 2017 conference,
"Come as you are," a loving Father says to each of us, but He adds, "don't plan to stay as you are."
Working with the young single adults has helped us to understand this thought a little more deeply.
We've witnessed miracles as the missionaries have taught friends and we've watched those friends come unto Christ. Countenances have changed. Actions have changed. Most importantly the understanding of Christ and His love for us has brought about change in these young friends. We've learned to wrap our arms around each and to love each as they've accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each time the experience is a little different and each time we marvel at the knowledge and love that brings about that change.
Young Single Adults come in many shapes and forms. We've loved each and encouraged them to come and learn of Christ through play and lesson. Our lives continue to be changed as we love each one.
Our decision to "come as we are" sometimes is a big step. Fear has to change to trust. Faith brings acceptance. Christ's arms are always stretched towards us. We just need to trust his perfect love and make the step to Him.
Here are some of beauties we saw the last couple of weeks as we drove from activity to activity.
Haworth
Our visit to Haworth with the senior sisters we saw hints of change. It was cooler and fewer flowers were around. Haworth was the home of the Bronte Sisters. This time we saw the inside of their home. The Bronte's were a family of great faith.

Lunch at a Cute Little Restaurant in Haworth
The owner knew quite a bit about the Church. We had a good visit with him.

A Traditional Dish with Beef, Potatoes, Peas, and Carrorts ( It's all served in the famous Yorkshire Pudding with gravy)

Our Daily Walks
Morning is when we like to walk. Sometimes schedules or weather don't permit a walk but sometime during the day we venture out to exercise and enjoy the views. Here's some of what we saw the last week or two.
Leeds Street near our Home
Hyde Park is up the Street from the Institute. (If we leave early enough in the morning, we cans see the sun shining. That is if there is no rain!)
Hyde Park Skate Ramp (Sometimes we see skaters doing their tricks. They usually come late afternoon. Graffiti unfortunately is everywhere)
Hyde Park Play Area (Families like to gather here in the afternoon and evening to let their children play)
Another View of the Park Playground
Ottley
This cute little town is very close to Leeds. We sometimes like to go there on Saturday to do our shopping. They have a great outdoor market and we can park the car in a nice parking area. On our last outing there we saw lots of bike riders.
Traffic Alert!
Outside our back window we can see a lovely mansion. One day we walked outside to get a closer look. This is what is posted outside the home. We fantasize about making this home into a mission office, mission home, and missionary apartments. It would be perfect for all. The president and his wife are still staying in a little apartment as they wait for the mission home to be remodeled. This place would be much easier to move into. Unfortunately, it's not for sale.
Good-bye to Katia. Another sweet single adult has left our midst. She is going home to Florida. After finishing her Master's Dissertation she was ready to head back to the USA. She was a big asset to the institute. Maybe someday we'll see each other again.
Come as you are but don't expect to stay that way!
Amen to that! Our lives are continuing to change and develop as we meet so many new and interesting people.
